Perinatal and Early Years Clinical Psychology

Specialist Psychological Therapy for Pregnancy, New Parenthood and the Early Years

Online across the UK with Dr Natalie Cook, Clinical Psychologist based in Oxford.

Welcome to Little Steps Psychology Practice

Becoming a parent is one of the most profound psychological transitions a person can experience. It is also one of the most poorly supported.

Whether you are trying to conceive, navigating pregnancy, recovering from a difficult birth, holding a baby in NICU, or parenting a toddler who has dismantled your sense of self, the emotional weight of this season is real. You do not have to carry it alone, and you do not have to be at breaking point to deserve support.

Little Steps Psychology Practice offers specialist online psychological therapy and parenting support for families across the perinatal period and the early years. We work with individuals, couples, and family members navigating antenatal anxiety, postnatal depression, birth trauma, NICU experiences, and the realities of life with babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.

All sessions are delivered online, which means you can access expert support from anywhere in the UK, including during nap times, or in the middle of a NICU stay.

Meet Dr Natalie

Dr Natalie Cook is a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with specialist training in perinatal and early years mental health. After years working within NHS services and seeing first-hand the gaps in psychological support for families during pregnancy, the postnatal period, and the early years, she founded Little Steps Psychology Practice to make specialist support more accessible.

Her clinical approach is grounded in evidence-based models including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), EMDR for trauma processing, and systemic and narrative approaches. She brings clinical expertise alongside warmth, directness, and an understanding that parents do not need more pressure or perfection. They need space, understanding, and support that meets them where they are.

Little Steps Psychology Practice offers specialist support across four key stages of early family life. Click below to find the area that fits your situation.
