Psychological therapy for parents

Perinatal mental health is not a niche concern. Anxiety, depression, and trauma during pregnancy and early parenthood affect around one in five women, and many more parents experience distress that never reaches a diagnosis but profoundly shapes their experience of becoming a family.

You do not need to be at breaking point to deserve support. Early intervention is shorter, lighter, and more effective than waiting until things feel unbearable.

Little Steps Psychology Practice offers specialist psychological therapy and parenting support across the perinatal period and early years. From pre-conception, through pregnancy and birth, into the postnatal period, through NICU experiences, and across the toddler and preschool years. All sessions are delivered online, which means you can access expert support from anywhere in the UK, including during nap times.

Dr Natalie Cook is a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist based in Oxford, with specialist training in perinatal and early years mental health. Therapy is grounded in evidence-based models including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), EMDR, and systemic and narrative approaches.
