A free live class with a Perinatal Clinical Psychologist

Beyond the Hospital Bag: The Antenatal Class For Your Mind

A free 30-minute class on the emotional side of pregnancy, and what actually helps.

Live on Teams, Wednesday 5 August, 7.30pm. Can’t make it live? Register anyway and I’ll send you the recording.

You’ve read the books. The bag is half packed. You’ve probably booked the NCT class.

And somewhere around 3am, a different set of questions arrives. The ones nobody put on a checklist.

Why do I feel like this, when I’m supposed to be glowing? Why can’t I switch the worry off? What if something goes wrong? I don’t quite recognise myself anymore.

If any of those are familiar, you are not doing pregnancy wrong. You are doing the part of pregnancy no one warns you about, where your mind and your sense of who you are change as much as your body does.

That is what this class is about.

In 30 minutes, and with no pressure to share anything, you’ll leave with:

  • Language for what is actually happening to you, because naming it is the first thing that makes it manageable.

  • Two tools you can use that same night, drawn from clinical practice, not wellness lists.

  • A clearer sense of what is a normal hard day, and what deserves more support.

  • The reassurance that you do not have to be in crisis to deserve any of this.

This is not a webinar of tips, and it is not toxic positivity. It is real clinical psychology, the kind I use in the therapy room every week, made simple and usable.

I’m Dr Natalie Cook, a Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate from the University of Oxford. I spent years in the NHS, including as Lead Psychologist on the neonatal unit at Evelina London Children’s Hospital. I specialise in the perinatal years. I’m also a mother to two young girls, so I know this from both chairs.

Add your name and email and you’ll get an instant confirmation, a gentle reminder before we begin, and the recording afterwards whether or not you make it live. That’s it. No pressure, and no catch.

Is it really free?  Yes, completely.

Will it be recorded?  Yes. Register and I’ll send it to you, so you can watch even if the time doesn’t suit.

Is this therapy?  No. It’s psychological education, led by a Clinical Psychologist. It isn’t therapy or crisis care, and it doesn’t replace your GP or maternity care.

Do I have to be on camera or talk?  Not at all. Come, listen, keep your camera off. You never have to share a word.
