The thoughts you haven't said out loud…

Most new mothers (somewhere between 70 and 100% of them) get unwanted thoughts about something bad happening to their baby. They arrive uninvited, they’re unpleasant, and they’re almost never talked about. If that’s happened to you, you’re not unusual and you’re not at risk of anything.

Almost every new mother has thoughts like this. Almost none of them say so.

If you’ve been kept awake by unwanted thoughts, you’re not doing pregnancy wrong. You’re doing the part of pregnancy no one warns you about, where your mind and your identity change as much as your body does.

You can be deeply grateful for this baby and find this stretch of life genuinely hard. Both are true at once.

I’m building something for those thoughts, To help you understand why the worries won’t switch off, what these thoughts actually are, and actual tools to use when they turn up at 3am. Short, self-paced, and yours to keep. The clinical work I do one to one, in a single sitting.

It’s not quite finished yet as I’d rather make it properly than quickly!

So pop your email below and you’ll be first to hear when it’s ready, as well as get access to the early bird price when it launches in January 2027.

About Me

I’m Dr Natalie Cook, a Perinatal Clinical Psychologist and the founder of Little Steps Psychology Practice.

I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oxford. I spent many years in the NHS, including as Lead Psychologist on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Evelina London Children's Hospital. I specialise in the perinatal and early years. I’m also a mother to two young girls, so I know this terrain from both chairs.

I’m building this course because I kept meeting parents who were doing everything right and still suffering quietly, who only reached for help once things had become a crisis. Psychological preparation shouldn’t begin when things fall apart. It belongs at the beginning.
